SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN: Ek Kadam Swachhata Ki Aur

OIL has rendered its full commitment to Hon’ble Prime Minister’s flagship programme “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, undertaking various projects and activities across all its spheres in the Country. OIL also undertook various other initiatives in different spheres, on drinking water, sanitation, garbage management etc. under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The employees of the Company, through “Shramdaan” undertook cleanliness drives of office premises, public places etc. for creating public awareness on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Some of the activities successfully implemented by OIL under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are as under:

  • Construction of 1471 toilets for boys & girls in Government Schools in 7 (seven) districts of Assam in Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Barpeta, Bongaigaon and Dhubri.
  • Installation of 20 nos. of RO/UV drinking water plants in villages of East Godavari District, in OIL operational area of KG Basin Project.
  • Construction of 2 nos. of toilets for men & women in Ranau village, Ramgarh, in Jaisalmer district, in operational area of Rajasthan Project.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of Bondajan water body under OIL's Pipeline Headquarters, at Narangi, Guwahati. Provided 1000 nos. of garbage bins & 2 nos. of garbage disposal trucks to Guwahati Municipal Corporation for garbage collection and cleanliness in different locations of Guwahati, taken up in two phases.
  • Construction of Toilet at Moitripur LP School, Diyun, Arunachal Pradesh, Toilet at Digboi Unnayan Samity and Toilet facility at OIL Township in 7 nos. of locations for public use.
  • Renovation of 13 nos. of school toilets & construction of 2 nos. of school & community toilets respectively in Dibrugarh & Tinsukia Districts of Assam.
  • Undertaken a toilet utilization assessment survey of the already constructed school toilets in various schools in Assam. Project Anubhav for awareness building among sanitation workers for making them more responsive towards sanitation. Shramdaan and Swachh Bharat Pakhwada by OIL employees for generating awareness about cleanliness.
  • Development of digital applications (both mobile & web based) for implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan objectives in the city of Varanasi
  • Adoption of Kamakhya Temple at Guwahati for cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep, under the Swachh Iconic Places initiative of the Government of India
